“WA” means harmony, a ring, a loop, a circle and fortune. It is the symbol of love and peace Mt. Fuji stands placing its hands together in prayer All things begin with this pray

World peace is the very eternal wish of mankind. The earth brings up all living creatures and forms the circle of lives. In other words, the earth implies also God. The life of miracle giving birth on the earth shine and move about energetically together in harmony, finish the role and return to the earth. This is the circle of life.

On the earth, all lives are equal and the mechanism has endlessly been continuing beyond the everlasting time. However, the selfish behavior of human who try to control the earth destroyed the nature one after another, and finally the circle of life ruined entirely. The tragedy coming from this human behavior was destroy of the earth and all living things.
It is the time to recognize the impending earth crisis and the last chance to restore. We assume that what we can do is taking back the earth to the origin and living with it, and teaching the way of living to children who will take our future. This is mission and hope of us who is living now in this earth.

We think the best way is to respect God, to have harmony, to review our forefather’s way of living who lived together with nature and to learn it. We would like to leave this earth for our children in future. We would like to leave them peaceful world where children can get along and play with each other.

We, NPO group “Living together with our earth”, was continuously acting for 14 years based on the above concept. And “Institute of Mt. Fuji for everybody” was telling that Mt. Fuji is the symbol of harmony of common humanity which is connected with subconsciousness for over 50 years.

Now it is the time for us to pray to Mt. Fuji which is the symbol of rebirth of the world and Japan, to stop all battles and to send a message of hopeful light with full of life trying to live together with the earth, of admire to the nature which ancient people was having, and of thankful feeling.
Mt Fuji was registered as World Cultural Heritage and now it was recognized as the mountain of religious faith.
We will offer a pray to God of Mt. Fuji, hometown of heart of Japanese people, for peaceful world making circle hand in hand around children who will take our future. This pray will be the start of everything.

We will hold “２st. World Festival WA 2015 ” from 17th until 18th October in Yamanaka Lake Communication Plaza Kirara. We hope you understand our purport of this festival and appreciate your cooperation and support.

1. Basic Theme no.1 : “Can we preserve our beautiful earth to our children in future and lead and teach them how to live ?”
Basic theme of Earth Festival is to connect and tie WA (harmony, circle, loop) together with children in all around the world and in Japan in order to leave them the natural environment and the way how to live together with other people, animals and plants and to pray for peace of the world.
We would like to achieve peace of the world by cultural exchange beyond border and language becoming all people together as one.

Basic Theme no.2 : “Japanese traditional living way which we would like to hand down to children in future.
In ancient Japan, people living in this earth were coexisting without any battle. Men had particular Japanese spirit which was inherited traditionally. It is “spirit of not fighting but taking care of others with harmony (even enemy, men had to pay respect to others passed away and to forget enmity), of trying best to be sincere, of valuing to be brave, of desiring to be pure, of having consideration to the others, of doing their best for others sacrificing themselves, of having strong resolve and patience, of valuing courtesy and of having sense of shame.
Women were living with particular spirit which is characteristic of women. They were very strong but quiet and dignified. And they were working for others who were in trouble.
In order to inherit these sprit of harmony which is characteristic of Japanese to children in future, we have to know Japanese traditional culture by ourselves.

2. What is Japanese traditional culture?
Japanese spirit and culture is based on the Shintoism. Festival, traditional entertainment, Bushido, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, architecture, civil engineering, New Year, “Festival by children aged 7,5 and 3”.are offered to God and they deeply originated from Japanese manners and culture. Without religion mainly composed of Shintoism, nobody can talk about Japanese culture and sprit.

3. What is Shintoism? Why will we study it?
We have chance to join many festival like “First shrine visit of New Year”, “shrine visit for baby”, “festival for rice-planting”, “festival of offering rice” but not many of us know the reason of them. Daijingu Shrine in Mt. Fuji teach it to you.
Shintoism is exactly the important spirit and way of living which Japanese must not forget. What Shintoism was teaching is to cherish shrine, home shrine and forefather, to cherish nature and hometown and to cherish parents, sisters and brothers.
Children who were taught to learn how God and forefather are great and how nature is amazing, to love hometown, parents, brothers, sisters and friends did not do wrong. Many Japanese still keep a small bit of this Shintoism inside them.
That proved in the time of Earth Quake in Eastern part of Japan in 2011. We would like to introduce some TV news program of this earth quake “ Why Japanese can keep calm in this miserable earth quake?” in France.
Now many people in the world are surprised at Japanese’s calmness. In front of this disaster, nobody gets into panic and no plunder is happened. (syncopation) Even the disaster is huge, many Japanese’s answer to our interview is magnificent. It is based on what Shintoism was teaching and maybe it is big volume of generosity. In Japan human being is one part of nature. In Western culture, human being is the master of nature but in Japan they are serving to nature and existence which borrow a part in the nature.

4. Education and consistent way of life inherited from elder people to children
In Japan important spirit for living and actual way of life were inherited until now. But they are almost forgotten so we, NPO group “Living together with our earth”, was putting this Japanese way of living into practice for rebirth of Japan and the world.
We would like to remain rich nature and way of living and wisdom as Japanese through ensuring foods by making rice method appreciating and coexisting with nature and through improvement of food in Meiji period. We let young people and children know it by doing it by ourselves under philosophy of Shintoism.

5. Training of young people bearing next generation
Young people who were grown up looking at their parents’ behavior started to work for Earth Festival even though they do not know “Yamato-Damashii (Men’s spirit as Japanese)” and “Yamato-Nadeshiko (Women’s spirit as Japanese)”. They have changed to pray “ Let’s offer God of Mt. Fuji, highest mountain in Japan, our wish of peace of the world and wish that we would like to remain the earth with rich nature to children in future”.
They started to think “ People can become as one through music and dance beyond border, language, race and generation. We believe children start to think to cherish this earth if they have sense of uniting their bodies with the earth dancing with barefoot in the ground.
All dances in the world originated in ancient time when people was gathering in front of God, offering food to God and dancing and singing. And culture was started from it.
We would like children know that dance and art originated in offering them to God.
The important thing is that young people praying to God and forefather, cherishing parents and getting along with brothers and sisters through lesson and practice of Shintoism grown up. By not only children in all countries dancing hand in hand under the blue sky but also through food, clothing, shelter, military arts and art, we wish it leads to world’s peace. And this is our Earth Festival.

Children are growing up looking young people and adult’s behavior. So now elderly people have to cooperate with young people and adult in order for them to learn how to live and to remain it to children in future.

6. Values of Japan is valid for all problem of modern society.
Japanese traditional culture is very helpful for the world. Japanese culture, traditional arts, agriculture, food, science technology and environmental technology can be connected with rebirth of the world. In Japan there is traditional industry which can save the world.
Let’s convey Japanese traditional culture saving the world to people all around world and traditional culture of the world to Japan.
And let’s make the area around Mt. Fuji “City of the peace of the world”.

We will hold Earth Festival “WA” ２０１５ praying for peace of the world gathering all people who is thinking happiness of children in all around the world in front of God of Fuji under Mt. Fuji, one of World Cultural Heritage.
